Which ChatGPT plan do I need?

No AI at all

Every template works on its own in Excel or Google Sheets.

Free ChatGPT

Attach a template in a chat and use the prompts. Free is tight: 3 file uploads a day, limited data analysis, and up to 5 files in a Project. The ChatGPT for Excel and Google Sheets add-in is included with limited use.

Paid ChatGPT (Go, Plus or Pro)

More room for the same steps. Data analysis is included, paid plans allow up to 80 file uploads every 3 hours, and a Project holds 25 files on Go and Plus. The add-in is limited on Free and Go; Plus and Pro include it within their usage limits.

If ChatGPT returns a file

Keep your original and check the formulas in the new file. OpenAI's help pages do not say that formulas survive.

What do I need?

Microsoft Excel (desktop or web) or a Google account for Google Sheets. That is all for the templates.

Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?

No. Every template works without AI. Free ChatGPT is enough to try the prompts, with tight limits (3 file uploads a day and limited data analysis). A paid plan gives more room. Plans change, so check chatgpt.com/pricing.

Will ChatGPT edit my spreadsheet for me?

Inside the sheet, the ChatGPT for Excel and Google Sheets add-in can edit cells, formulas, formatting, tabs, charts and pivot tables. In a normal chat, ask for exact steps and make the change yourself. If ChatGPT gives you an edited file, keep your original and check the formulas. The guide covers both.

Can I change the templates?

Yes. Rename items, add rows and change the dropdowns. One of the prompts helps you adapt a template to your business, and the guide shows how to check any change.

Is it financial advice?

No. The templates and prompts are practical tools, not financial, tax or legal advice. The example figures are made up. Check important numbers with your accountant.

Is there an Arabic version?
